How to configure Entourage 2004 to access Shared Exchange Services

Step #1. Update Entourage

The first step to configuring Entourage 2004 to work with Exchange is to make sure that you are using the latest version of Entourage. To do this you can click on "Help" within Entourage and choose to search for updates.


Step #2. Add Exchange Account

Now that Entourage is up to date you can configure it to work with our Exchange Services.

To add an Exchange Account to Entourage, click on the Tools menu and select Accounts.

In the window that opens, click the down arrow next to the "New" button and select "Exchange..."

Step #3. Configure Account Manuall

In the "Account Setup Assistant" window that pops up, click on the button in the lower righthand corner that says "Configure account manually"

Step #4. Edit Account

Within the window that opens you will need to enter most of the information Entourage needs to connect to our Exchange environment.

In the field titled "Account name:" enter the name you want Entourage to display this account under. You can choose any name you want for this field.

Personal information.

In the "Name:" field, enter your name as you want it to appear on outgoing email.

In the field next to "Email Address:" enter your full Exchange email address.

Server Information.

In the field next to "Account ID:" enter the first part of your Exchange email address (everything before the @) followed by a dot and then your 3 digit Exchange domain suffix. For example, if your address was jsmith@domain.com you might enter "jsmith.dom" If you don't know what your 3 digit suffix is, feel free to give us a call on the support line listed at the top of the page.

In the "Password:" field, enter your Exchange password.
Fill in the "Domain:" and "Exchange server:" fields exactly as they are shown in the screenshot below.

Step #5. Public Folder Server

The next step is to configure Entourage to connect to the Public folder server within our Exchange environment. This will allow you to view any public folders for your domain and also the free/busy data for other users in your domain.

To do this, first click on the "Advanced" tab at the top of the "Edit Account" window that is open.

In the field next to "Public folders server:" enter the server name as show in the screenshot below.

Click OK.

Step #6. Login to Exchange account

After you click OK, a window titled "Enter domain, account ID and password" should open.

In that window, fill in the three fields with the same values that you used on the "Edit Account" window under "Server Information."

Click OK.
